    Vitamin B12

    Methylcobalamin

An essential water-soluble vitamin critical for nervous system function, red blood cell formation, and DNA synthesis. Methylcobalamin is the naturally active form, directly usable by the body without conversion.

    What the Research Shows

    Delpre et al. (1999)

Oral methylcobalamin (1,000 mcg/day) was as effective as intramuscular injection for correcting B12 deficiency.

    British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology

    Health et al. (2015)

B12 deficiency was associated with 2.5× higher risk of cognitive decline over a 10-year period in elderly populations.

    Neurology

    Oberley (2002)

Methylcobalamin preferentially distributes to nervous tissue and showed regenerative effects on damaged peripheral nerves.

    How It Works

Vitamin B12 acts as a co-factor for methionine synthase (converting homocysteine to methionine, essential for DNA methylation) and L-methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (critical for myelin synthesis and energy metabolism in the Krebs cycle). Methylcobalamin specifically supports neuronal health by promoting myelin sheath repair and nerve regeneration. It also enables proper red blood cell maturation, preventing megaloblastic anaemia.
