How It Works
Boswellia contains boswellic acids — particularly AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) — which selectively inhibit 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), an enzyme responsible for producing inflammatory leukotrienes. Unlike NSAIDs, this mechanism targets inflammation without damaging the stomach lining or affecting kidney function.
