Omega-3 (EPA/DHA)
Essential fatty acids derived from marine sources that the body cannot produce on its own. EPA and DHA are the biologically active forms with the strongest cardiovascular evidence.
What the Research Shows
VITAL Trial (2019)
25,871 participants showed omega-3 supplementation reduced cardiovascular events by 28% in those with low fish intake.
New England Journal of Medicine
REDUCE-IT (2019)
High-dose EPA (icosapent ethyl) reduced cardiovascular events by 25% in statin-treated patients with elevated triglycerides.
New England Journal of Medicine
AHA Scientific Advisory (2019)
American Heart Association confirmed omega-3 supplementation reduces triglyceride levels by 20–30%.

How It Works
EPA and DHA integrate into cell membranes throughout the cardiovascular system, where they modulate inflammatory signalling by reducing production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. They lower triglyceride levels by reducing hepatic VLDL production, improve endothelial function, stabilise arterial plaque, and have mild anti-arrhythmic effects on heart muscle cells.
